TRI Experts & Users Connect is an exclusive monthly live Zoom forum for users of the TRI matrix^® Implant System across Australia and New Zealand. The format is designed to bring together TRI clinicians from Australia and New Zealand to discuss complex clinical cases, share practical experience, learn from experienced experts, and interact directly with members of the TRI Headquarters Development Team.

More than a webinar, TRI Connect aims to establish a vibrant regional community of TRI users built on collaboration, education and innovation. As the community grows, the long-term vision is to expand the format internationally and develop TRI Connect into leading global forum for TRI matrix^® users.

The objectives of TRI Connect are to:

Build a strong community of TRI matrix^® users.
Support clinicians in managing challenging implant cases.
Promote evidence-based clinical decision making.
Facilitate the exchange of practical clinical experience.
Provide direct interaction with the TRI Headquarters Development Team.
Present the latest scientific evidence, clinical concepts and product innovations.
Encourage continuous professional development and lifelong learning.

Case of the Month

An interesting or challenging clinical case submitted to Apoona by a TRI user is selected for detailed discussion by the expert panel. The panel will review diagnosis, treatment planning, alternative treatment options and practical clinical solutions before opening the discussion to participants.

Expert Discussion

Additional submitted clinical cases and questions are discussed interactively, allowing participants to benefit from the collective experience of both the expert panel and fellow TRI users.

Each Session

Includes a concise presentation and discussion on a selected topic relevant to implant dentistry, including:

Prof. Axel Spahr is Head of the Discipline Periodontics and Program Director of the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry-Periodontics postgraduate program at The University of Sydney Dental School.

Prof. Spahr is the former Head of Periodontics at the University of Ulm in Germany and has also worked at various international universities and research facilities. He has additional training in microbiology, molecular biology, extensive experience in basic science research, animal research and clinical research. His research interests include periodontal regeneration, bone and soft tissue regeneration, periodontitis and systemic diseases, antimicrobial therapy as well as dental implants and peri-implant diseases. He has led large externally funded research projects and is collaborating with leading international research groups and companies in the field of periodontology, implantology and tissue regeneration. He has authored numerous publications in international peer-reviewed dental and medical journals, book chapters, and has presented his work at professional conferences worldwide.

Prof. Spahr is a board registered periodontal specialist, working part-time in an established specialist periodontal and implant practice in Sydney and is the past President of the Periodontal Research Group of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). He is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the International College of Dentists (ICD), and the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA).Edit text

Dr Thomas Giblin graduated from the University of Sydney’s Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours in 2004. After working in private practice, he was admitted to the University Of Texas Health Science Centre at San Antonio in their Graduate Advanced Prosthodontics Program.

Dr Giblin is interested in many areas of dentistry, but has a heavy focus on dental implants, occlusion and aesthetic dentistry. Dr Giblin is also very interested in the technical aspect of prosthodontics and has his own full service dental laboratory, heavily utilising digital workflows.

Dr Giblin lectures extensively both in Australia and overseas and runs his own courses out of his teaching facility.

He is a member if many dental societies both in Australia and overseas, including the ADA, AANZP, ACP, IAG and AARD. He currently sits on the Federal Executive committee of the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry (ASID.org.au) and is also the current President, a Fellow, Diplomate and examiner of the International Congress of Oral lmplantologists (ICOl.org), the largest implant organisation in the world.
