Description:

This didactic and hands-on course will provide the practitioner with valuable knowledge and experience in how to treatment plan and perform different types of bone grafting. Specific focus will be on GBR methods and utilizing custom titanium mesh to achieve vertical and horizontal bone augmentation. Clinical pearls and pitfalls will be discussed to give the learner an appreciation for common complications, and how to prevent and/or manage them. This course will also review the role that proper soft tissue preparation, biologics, and biomaterials play in improving the success of bone grafting and long-term dental implant stability.

Learning Objections

Reconstruct with confidence — Compare evidence-based approaches for managing and reconstructing alveolar bone defects.

Select the right approach — Identify the indications, contraindications, and clinical considerations for different bone grafting techniques.

Let the defect guide the decision — Evaluate how defect morphology influences technique selection, predictability, and clinical outcomes.

Optimize the soft tissue foundation — Recognize how soft tissue preparation and management contribute to predictable bone regeneration.

Leverage biologics and biomaterials — Explain how biologics and biomaterials can enhance the predictability and success of bone grafting procedures.
